OUR GOALS

The major goals of the CPGEC are to:

  • Provide care to older adults.

  • Facilitate implementation of “best practices” in geriatric care.

  • Provide health professional faculty with the knowledge and resources to effectively teach geriatrics.

  • Recruit greater numbers of students and practicing health professionals into geriatrics.

  • Promote continuous learning environments  in health care organizations.

To accomplish these goals, the CPGEC utilizes the expertise of University of Kansas Medical Center faculty and staff, faculty and staff of our consortium institutions, and faculty from the nationwide network of Geriatric Education Centers. The CPGEC also collaborates with numerous national, state, and local organizations to further quality geriatric education.
