AGS Newsletter and AGS Website ( www.americangeriatrics.org) --excellent sources of information on Society activities and programs, noteworthy news, public policy issues, career opportunities in geriatrics, and much more. 

Policy Position Statements and Clinical Practice Guidelines--The AGS published The AGS Clinical Practice Guideline: The Management of Chronic Pain in Older Persons in the May 1998 issue of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. The Society has published position statements, papers, and guidelines to bring important issues in geriatric education, research, clinical practice, and public policy to the attention of those working in the field, including policy makers, legislators, people in the health care industry, clinicians, and others. 

The AGS/American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) Annual Scientific Meeting--the premier forum for the latest information on clinical geriatrics, research on aging and health problems of older adults, and innovative models in health care delivery as well as teaching in geriatrics.  

The Geriatrics Recognition Award-awarded to recognize physicians and nurses who are committed to advancing their continuing education in geriatrics. 

The AGS Awards Program-includes the following: The AGS Edward Henderson Award State-of-the-Art Lecture; AGS Clinician of the Year; AGS/Merck New Investigator Awards; Pfizer/AGS Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards; Dennis W.
