5th Annual Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Pow Wow

The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation's 5th annual Pow Wow took place June 13 -15 at the Prairie People's Park on the Potawatomi reservation.  RIT students and faculty provided free health screenings to the attendees.

The event featured several contests in dancing, drumming, dress, and other categories.  In addition to the contests, exercise and athletic activities were organized by the tribe.

Numerous vendors sold their products at the event.  Tents and stands lined the perimeter of the arbor.  Indian foods, artwork, jewelry, crafts, and clothing were available.

RIT students and faculty provided free health screenings in one of the shelter houses at Prairie People's Park.  Screenings conducted included blood glucose level, total cholesterol, body mass index, and blood pressure.
